Is Troy a racist or misunderstood?

Some people would consider Troy to be racist because he has a bitter taste toward the white men that play in Major League Baseball, but this is not at all the case. The bitterness that Troy feels is not racism but actually just hate that he is grown to have because of his age and not being accepted by the people in the baseball teams. Most of Troy's life has been centered around the dream of being on a baseball team. This theory is backed up by the argument that Troy gets into with his son Cory about him playing football. It is not that Troy wants his son to do what he wants but that he wants Cory to be a greater man than he is and have more than he could ever have in his life. Racism from that time to this time has really changed drastically because of the laws created. Back then blacks were so discriminated against that their lives were absolutely limited to those of an animal. But now showing any sign or saying any words pertaining to racism can get you locked up for a night or two and a hefty fine. So was Troy Maxson a racist? In his time period no he was not. He was just a man angry  because his life was not fulfilled how he wanted it to be. In today's time saying what he said, depending on the judge could possibly get him up to six months in jail.
